Our worldwide agent network guarantees a professional and reliable handling of your freight from and to every destination. Due to our volume contracts with various major shipping companies we offer you the most favourable shipping conditions at very competitive prices.    

Van der Helm - Hudig has built up its know-how and expertise in sea-freight shipping in this sector for more two centuries. We will therefore be pleased to inform you about the most optimal routes, shipping conditions and additional transport. Moreover, we would like to advise you about the best time/costs ratio, whether it concerns consolidation (LCL) or full containers (FCL). You give us information about your deadlines and delivery requirements: on the basis of this we generate the most flexible and quickest options.  

 A few options we offer shippers:  

• - Lcl (Less than container load): both import and export
• - Fcl (Full container load): both import and export
• - Lcl – Fcl: a commission to group and ship and deliver as Fcl
• - Fcl – Lcl: a commission to load on location and release and/or deliver to several receivers at the destination.  

Sea / Air Services

When air freight is too expensive, but the longer transport time of sea freight is inconvenient for you, a combination of sea freight / air freight may be a good alternative. Van der Helm – Hudig offers attractive sea / air services. Please inform about the possibilities!    

NVOCC

With our own worldwide groupage services that we maintain together with our agents, we can take care of your Lcl shipments all over the world. Once the freight has arrived in Rotterdam, we only use our own material for dealing with your cargo (so the container transport is done with own material, after which the container is unloaded at our own shed by our own personnel). Because of the limited involvement of third parties unforeseen risks are limited to a minimum.  

Price developments in the last year have been turbulent. It is for this reason that we assess each shipment to see whether it is better to ship the volume offered by you as Lcl or as Fcl (import).  

The total sum of the activities related to (import) shipment often determines which of the above-mentioned forms of shipping is best and/or cheapest. Because of the expertise of our partner in the loading port, Van der Helm-Hudig always has an accurate overview of these costs. You can count on a reliable and constructive advice.  

Van der Helm-Hudig in its capacity as NVOCC also issues its own bills of lading that are registered at the international Chamber of Commerce, which are also insured in agreement with P&I provisions. They are also registered at the FMC and can therefore be used without any restrictions, also for the United States.
